A year ago, I completed my PhD at TUDelft with a dissertation on "Towards sustainable safety and performance in organizations - Total Respect Management as a design to pursue and achieve excellence in organisations." The design and thesis were evaluated by TUDelft to contribute to all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are interconnected and crucial for addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation. It is how one can create a corporate culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.Unfortunately, ISO 31000 is the worlds most misunderstood and ill-implemented risk management standard. When properly understood, it is a systemic way to build a corporate culture that pursues and achieves excellence in any organisation, regardless it size or sector.
