DescriptionA high-volume estate planning law firm based in Wheaton, IL is seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant to join their dedicated team. The law firm focuses on estate planning matters and strives to deliver the highest quality legal representation for their clients. Ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented and tech-savvy legal assistant with experience managing diverse legal matters in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with case preparation, including getting paperwork ready, maintaining documents, gathering necessary information and coordinating schedules.
Substantial client interaction - both in person and over the phone.
Drafting and preparing legal documents such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, deeds etc.
Handling scheduling, billing and correspondence tasks.
Conducting legal research and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of estate planning law.
Ensuring all time-sensitive documents and tasks are completed within deadlines.
Utilize modern software, applications, and platforms to streamline work processes.
RequirementsQualifications
A minimum of 2 years' experience as a legal assistant, preferably within an estate planning law firm.
Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, legal research platforms and video conferencing tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to independently manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field would be preferred.
