The 33-year-old has three top-10 finishes over his last four Open Championships, including placing second in 2019, and the English native will try to break through for his first PGA Tour and major victory in Scotland.

Another curveball: Nejad is backing the No. 6-ranked player in the world, Collin Morikawa. The two-time major champion will attempt to win a third leg of golf's grand slam to his résumé. He won the PGA Championship in 2020 and the Open Championships the following year.
Nejad believes that Morikawa's game is a good fit at Royal Troon, where making birdies will be key. Morikawa ranks second on the PGA Tour this season in birdie average (4.46 per round).
